Biography
David
L. Whitsett II was born on March 13, 1967 in Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduating from Brebeuf Preparatory, he
earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis,
double majoring in accounting and finance.
Mr. Whitsett practiced as an accountant for 8 years prior to entering
law school, passing the Certified Public Accountant exam in 1994. Mr. Whitsett was a member of the Indiana
Health Law Review, Dean's Student Advisory Board and Moot Court before
graduating cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis in
2004. While in law school, Mr. Whitsett
interned/clerked with the U.S. Treasury, Internal Revenue Service Appeals
Office in Indianapolis; Wilson, Kehoe and Winningham; Ruben and Levin; and
finally with Ryan, Moore, Cook & Hunter in Frankfort, Indiana. He joined Ryan, Moore, Cook & Hunter as
an associate after graduating from law school, where he practiced until
September 1, 2008. On September 1, 2008,
Mr. Whitsett opened a solo practice in downtown Frankfort, Indiana.
Mr.
Whitsett is admitted to the Indiana Bar and the U.S. District courts of
Northern and Southern Indiana. He is a
member of the American Bar Association, American Bar Association Young Lawyers
Division, Indiana Bar Association, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association and
Clinton County Bar Association (past President). Mr. Whitsett practices in the areas of
litigation, commercial law, criminal law, bankruptcy, disability appeals,
family law, wealth transfer and taxation.

Frankfort, Indiana. Beth Whitsett grew
up in Frankfort (Frankfort class of 1986).
The Whitsett family migrated to Frankfort while David was in Law School
and Beth was pregnant with their oldest, Grant.
Admittedly, grandparents, Ron & Carol Montgomery, were the main
attraction to Frankfort then. Now, they
have made Frankfort their home. The
Whitsett family attends St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the children attend Blue
Ridge Elementary School in Frankfort, Indiana.
